✦ Synopsis
Poly(-pinene) was brominated by N-bromosuccinimide on the allylic carbons. Then the brominated product was activated by AlEt 2 Cl to initiate the polymerization of styrene to give a -pinene/styrene graft copolymer. AlEt 2 Cl was selected because it alone could not initiate the polymerization of styrene. The obtained graft copolymer was characterized by GPC, 1 H-NMR, and DSC measurements, respectively.

## Abstract It was found that structurally isomeric polymers were formed by the ring‐opening polymerization of β‐(2‐acetoxy ethyl)‐β‐propiolactone with (EtAlO)~__n__~ and Et(ZnO)~2~ZnEt catalysts; that is, the Al catalyst catalyzed normal polymerization which led to poly‐β‐ester and the Zn catalyst
