## Abstract The kinetics of reactions of polymer units depending on the closest vicinity is analyzed. The derived equation can be applied to transformations of homopolymers into copolymers. It directly allows (by fitting of the calculated kinetic curve to experimental data) to determine the corresp

✦ Synopsis
Abstract
Polyvinylamine (PVVAm) was synthesized using the precursor poly(tert‐butyl N‐vinylcarbamate) (PTBNVC). The monomer synthesis was improved, and the control of the molecular weight of the PTBNVC and the PVAm by a transfer reaction with the solvent is demonstrated. TBNVC was radically polymerized. In suspension polymerization molecular weights of 10^6^ g/mol are accessible. Different polymer analogous reactions were carried out. The resulting polymers are methylated polyvinylamine, poly(N‐vinylureas), poly(N‐vinylalkanamides) and PVAm‐adducts with acrylic acid derivatives.

## Abstract The synthesis of a new type of poly(vinyl sugar) is described whose polymer backbone is connected with the monosaccharide unit by a C—C bond. Such polymers can be obtained by radical initiation. They show good stability in polymer‐analogous reactions in contrast to common poly(vinyl sac
