✦ Synopsis

Perfluoropropane-1.3-disulfonic acid, HO~S-(CFZ)~-SO~H, and perfluorobutane-1.4-disulfonic acid, HOxS-(CFz)a-S03H, have been prepared electrochemically from the alkanedisulfonl-1 difluorides. Whereas perfluoroalkanemonosulfonpl fluorides can easill-be prepared via electrochemical fluorination the situation x-ith disulfonyl difluorides is somewhat more difficult. N?lR data are reported for all compounds.
