A number of N‐heteroaryl aminonaphthols (Betti bases) were prepared from the reaction of 2‐naphthol, 3‐aminopyridine, and aromatic aldehydes. Subsequent condensation of the prepared Betti bases with oxalyl chloride afforded the novel naphth[1,2‐f][1,4]oxazepine‐3,4‐dione heterocycles in moderate to high yields. J.
