The y-alkoxy allylstannane 5b, prepared in high yield by BF3 l OEt2 promoted I!,31 rearran yield an f ement of the (S)-a-alkoxy all$&annane 4b, affords the syn 1,2-diol derivatives 8 and 9 in high excellent ee upon condensation with various aldehydes.
