✦ Synopsis

The title diamines were synthesized by condensation of 1,Cphenylenediamine with paraformaldehyde and a suitable phosphorus acid triester. The N,N'dibenzoyl derivatives of the above compounds were also prepared. New flame-retardant polyamides were synthesized under various experimental conditions by condensation of these diaxnines with terephthaloyl dichloride. The polyamides produced have low viscosities. Blends with polystyrene (PS) have been made and their flammabilities determined.

The pyrolysis kinetics of two phenylaminobutyl acetates were determined in a static system over the temperature range 359.7-399.6 °C and the pressure range 23.8-95 Torr. The reactions, in vessels seasoned with allyl bromide and in the presence of the free radical inhibitor toluene, are homogeneous a

The synthesis of perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic acid-bis( N,N-dodecylpolyimide) (poly PTDI) and polyamic acid has been achieved from perylene dianhydride and dodecylamine. It was found that this new polyimide has very high thermal photostability. Poly PTDI decomposes at 475ЊC and shows weak fluor
