✦ Synopsis
The total synthesis of the enantiomers of sporogen-A0 1 [13dcoxyphomenone (la)] was achieved in 25 steps from 2,3dimelhylhydroquinone (5). Only the natural ( +)-enantiomer was bioactive on Aspergilbs oryzae.
