Abstract
Summary: The synthetic routes to three series of liquid crystal conducting polymers (based on pyrrole, thiophene, and aniline monomers) are reported and the optimum conditions for polymer preparation are described. These polymers show increased conductivity when laserβaligned, the greatest effect being shown by the Nβsubstituted pyrroleβbased system. Information on their liquid crystal and spectroscopic properties and other characteristics are also included.

## Abstract A theoretical model has been established to describe the dynamic temperature distribution during the alignment of an azobenzene liquid crystalline polymer irradiated by a linearly polarized laser beam. The dynamic heat diffusion equations are used, and the relationship between heat sour
