The yellow, thermally stable compounds (3) are readily soluble in polar solvents and can also formally be considered as q4-phosphole complexes. They were identified by total elemental analysis, mass-(M+), IR-and NMR-spectra (Table I), and ( 3 4 , additionally, by an X-ray structure analysis[41 (Fig. 1).
