โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

Summary: The oxidative polymerization of Nโ€glucosylaniline was carried out using ammonium persulfate as the oxidant in phosphate buffer. The structure of the isolated polymer was determined by ^1^H NMR, ^13^C NMR, and UVโ€vis spectroscopy to be the polyaniline having glucose residues attached to the general polyaniline unit. Participation of the orthoโ€position of the aromatic ring in the polymerization was also confirmed by the analyses.

Polyaniline modified electrodes were prepared following a two step procedure: (i) electrodeposition of manganese dioxide from an alkaline permanganate solution, and (ii) chemical polymerization of aniline on the electrode surface by a manganese dioxide layer. Electrochemical behaviour of the obtaine
