A n t i b o d i e s l a b e l l e d w i t h r a d i o i s o t o p e s v i a c h e l a t i n g a g e n t s a r e being used i n c r e a s i n g l y f o r i n v i v o l o c a l i s a t i o n o r r a d i o t h e r a p y of tumours. The most w i d e l y used c h e l a t i n g a g e n t is DTPA. Here, we d e s c r i b e t e c h n i c a l m o d i f i c a t i o n s of t h e s t a n d a r d DTPA c y c l i c anhydride c o n j u g a t i o n procedure and determine t h e i n v i t r o s t a b i l i t y of t h e DTPA-antibody c o n j u g a t e s . The use of t h i s d e r i v a t i v e of DTPA combined w i t h t h e u s e of a p p r o p r i a t e b u f f e r s and small d i s p o s a b l e g e l f i l t r a t i o n columns r e s u l t e d i n t h e development of a simpler and more r a p i d technique f o r t h e p r o d u c t i o n of DTPA-conjugated a n t i b o d i e s .
