## Abstract The __J__(23)__cis__ and __J__(23)__trans__ values in several 2‐carbonyl substituted 2,3‐dihydrobenzofurans were measured. Although __J__(__cis__)>__J__(__trans__), the values found disagree with the Karplus rule.
