Abstract
The structure of neohobartine (3), a side product of the acid‐catalyzed conversion of (−)‐hobartine (1) into (+)‐aristoteline (2), has been elucidated by spectroscopic methods. Possible mechanistic pathways leading to its 1‐azaaadamantane skeleton are discussed.
