## Abstract Nanosized near infrared (NIR) responsive nanohybrids are synthesized by surface‐initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (SI‐ATRP) of __N__‐isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAm) on gold nanorods (Au NRs). Transmission electron microscopy images demonstrate that the nanohybrids have a clear
