IJe describe the synthesis of a new heterocyclic system : the 1,3-benzotellurazole, and some of its substituted derivatives. The chemistry of 1,3-benzoxazole ', as well as of its sulfur 2 and selenium 3 analogs is well documented. Nevertheless, the 1,3-benzotellurazole (benzotellurazole), iast term
