Abstract

Derivatives of a novel phosphorus‐containing heterocyclic system, 4,5‐dihydroimidazo [5,1‐c][1,4,2]benzodiazaphosphinine, have been prepared by the direct phosphorylation of 1‐(2‐(aroyl/alkyl)aminophenyl)‐2‐methylthioimidazole with dibromophenylphosphine in a basic medium. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract The synthesis of new 1,3‐dihydroimidazo[4,5‐__a__]acridin‐2‐one and 1,3‐dihydroimidazo[4,5‐__b__]acridin‐2‐one derivatives is reported. The yield and the structure of each isomer were determined by nmr spectroscopy.
