✦ Synopsis

The synthesis of (~ycloheptat~~ny~~thyl}~riph~nylphospho~~ tetrafluorobo~ates is reported. Hydride abstraction to the corresponding tropylim salt followed b,y proton abstraction afforded the title compound III& which shows little, if any, ylidic character.
