Novel heterocycles [1,2,5]selenadiazolo[3,4‐e][1,4]diazepines 3a‐c, [1,2,5]thiadiazolo[3,4‐e]‐[1,4]diazepines 7a‐c, [1,2,5]selenadiazolo[3,4‐e][1,4]oxaepines 4a,b, [1,2,5]thiadiazolo[3,4‐e]‐[1,4]oxazepines 9a‐c and [1,2,5]selena(or thia)diazolo[3,4‐c][1,2,6]thiadiazines 10a,b were synthesized starting form 4,6‐dimethyl[1,2,5]se]enadiazolo[3,4‐d]pyrimidine‐5,7(4__H__,6__H__)‐dione 1 or 4,6‐dimethyl‐[1,2,5]thiadiazolo[3,4‐d]pyrimidine‐5,7(4__H__,6__H__)‐dione 5.
