Crystals of Ba 5 Ru 1.6 W 0.4 Cl 2 O 9 were prepared in a BaCl 2 flux and investigated by X-ray diffraction methods. The structure of this new compound was solved and refined in the hexagonal symmetry space group P6 3 /mmc with aโ€ซ)2(718.5ุโ€ฌ A > , cโ€ซุโ€ฌ 24.839(2) A > , and Zโ€ซ2ุโ€ฌ to a final R of 0.0383
