## Abstract **Summary:** Novel polyfunctional sulfone‐ and anhydride‐containing reactive terpolymers with different compositions have been synthesized by complex‐radical polymerization of the ternary MA‐St‐APMS acceptor‐donor‐acceptor monomer system. This method allows preparing terpolymers with a

✦ Synopsis
Methyl-2-oxazoline (MOX) as a nucleophilic monomer and tetrachlorophthalic anhydride (TCPhA) as an electrophilic monomer were copolymerized in the absence of initiator at various feed ratios.
Copolymers were characterized by elemental analysis, FT-i.r. and ~H-NMR spectroscopy. Their compositions were determined from chlorine contents; the monomer reactivity ratios determined by the Fineman and Ross method were r 1 = 0.10 (MOX) and r 2 = 0.05 (TCPhA). The thermal stability of copolymers increased as the content of tetrachlorophthalic anhydride increased. The reaction order for degradation of all copolymers was zero. The kinetic parameters of the decomposition were determined for all copolymers.
