โœฆ Synopsis

Methyl acrylate and 3-hydroxy-4-acetylphenyl methacrylate were copolymerized in dimethylformamide at 65 ยฐ using benzoyl peroxide as initiator. The copolymers were characterized by i.r. and IH-NMR spectroscopic techniques. Their compositions were determined by ~H-NMR analysis of the polymers. The monomer reactivity ratios were evaluated by Fineman-Ross and Kelen-Tiidfs methods. The intrinsic viscosities and the thermal properties of the copolymers are discussed.

Methyl methacrylate (MMA) has been copolymerized with n-butyl acrylate (n-BA), ethyl acrylate (EA), and 2-ethylhexyl acrylate (2-EHA) in solution at 70ยฐC using benzoyl peroxide as free radical initiator. The copolymer composition was estimated by the 'H-NMR spectroscopic technique. The copolymers we
