A new series of aromatic heterocyclic poly(ary1 pyromellitimide-ether)s have been synthesized from various disodium metal bisphenolate salts with an N,N-bis(p-nitro-pheny1)pyromellitimide via aromatic nitro displacement solution polycondensation in dipolar aprotic solvent at elevated temperature. Th
