β¦ Synopsis
Nanoparticles of EuBa 2 SbO 6 , a complex perovskite metal oxide were synthesized by a self-sustained combustion method employing citric acid as the complexing agent. The powders were characterized by X-ray diffraction, IR and Raman spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Nanocrystals of EuBa 2 SbO 6 were sintered to 97 % of theoretical density at 1450 Β°C for 4 h without any sintering aid. The dielectric properties (dielectric constant, Ξ΅ r and loss factor, tanΞ΄) of the ceramics have been measured in the frequency range 50 Hz to 5 MHz at room temperature. The chemical non-reactivity of EuBa 2 SbO 6 with YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7-Ξ΄ makes it an ideal substrate for YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7-Ξ΄ superconductors.
