β¦ Synopsis
Perfect single crystals of a lactone form of rhodamine B (RB lactone, 3, 6-bis(di-ethylamino)-spiro-[isobenzofuran-1(3H), 9-[9H]xanthene]-3-one, C 28 H 30 N 2 O 3 ) were hydrothermally prepared in a sol+gel system of rhodamine B+Na 2 O+SiO 2 +gly-cerol+H 2 O. The product of crystalline RB lactone was identi5ed by 1 H NMR. The structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray di4raction. Lactone crystallizes in a monoclinic system, space group P2 1 /n with a β«Ψβ¬ 16.559(3) A > , b β«Ψβ¬ 15.657(3) A > , c β«Ψβ¬ 19.381(2) A > , β«Ψβ¬ 100.10(1)3, V β«Ψβ¬ 4947(1) A > 3 , Z β«Ψβ¬ 8. The structure was resolved by direct method and re5ned to R β«Ψβ¬ 0.060 and R w β«Ψβ¬ 0.064 on the basis of 3834 observed re6ections with I9 2.50 (I). An asymmetric unit consists of two independent lactone molecules. Both molecules contain a central planar section and planar groups bonded to the central carbon, respectively. Pure phase of the lactone crystallites obtained was con5rmed by comparison of the observed XRD pattern with the simulated one.

The fluorides CuMoF 6 and CrNbF 6 are triclinic, isostructural with CuSnF 6 . Their crystal structures were solved in the space group P1, by the Rietveld method using the data of their X-ray powder patterns. Both crystal structures can be described as a three-dimensional framework of alternating 6 c

In this study the single-crystal X-ray structure of the solvated species (nifedipine)2. 1,4-dioxane is reported for the first time. Included solvent molecules are located in isolated cavities in the crystal, yielding a very stable solvate. Desolvation of this species involves complete disruption of
