✦ Synopsis
Some novel uracil derived azo compounds were synthesized by diazotization of substituted aromatic amines, amidine-and guanidine-like amines such as 2-aminopyridine and 2-aminopyrimidine, orthohydroxy aniline and ortho-hydroxy naphthyl amines and coupling reaction with 6-amino-1,3-dimethyluracil. Structures of the dyes were fully characterized by spectroscopic techniques (UV, 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, CHN and IR). The dyes were applied to polyester, affording orange-yellow shades and the wash fastness of the dyeings was excellent.
