β¦ Synopsis
A new ion exchanger, stannic phthalophosphate has been synthesised under various conditions. The material was characterised by determination of chemical and physical properties, such as chemical composition and chemical and thermal stability, cation exchange capacity, sorption capacity and distribution coefficients values. Cation exchange equilibria on this material were also studied. Separation of Pb 2Γ· in the presence of Zn 2Γ·, Sr 2Γ·, Co 2Γ·, Ni 2+, Cu 2Γ· and Mg 2Γ· was achieved. The values of selectivity coefficients for alkaline earth metal ions were measured using equilibrium experiments at constant ionic strength and at different temperatures from 30 to 60Β°C. The thermodynamic equilibrium constants and values of AH Β°, AG Β°, and AS Β° are reported.
