✦ Synopsis
The reaction of PbCl 2 with LiN(PPh 2 ) 2 (1) at Ϫ78°C affords the PϪP coupled phosphazene Ph 2 PϪN=PPh 2 ϪPPh 2 = NϪPPh 2 (2) as an oxidation product and, as a reduction equivalent, the novel lead(1+) complex [(Pb 1+ ) 2 (µ-
The crystal structure determination of the red compound 3 shows a PbϪPb bond length of 304.1(1) pm. The 31 P-and 207 Pb-NMR spectra of 3 are complicated due to the presence of a higher order spin system (AAЈAЈЈAЈЈЈX for the mono-207 Pb isotopomer, AAЈAЈЈAЈЈЈXXЈ for the bis-207 Pb isotopomer).
