## Abstract __ω__‐Conotoxin GVIA is a potent, irreversible antagonist of __N__‐type voltage gated Ca^2+^ channels. A radiofluorinated analogue of GVIA could be useful in assessing regional synaptic density of the brain, __in vivo__, using positron emission tomography. __N__‐hydroxy succinimidyl 4‐[
