✦ Synopsis
A new tin(II) phosphate, [NH 3 CH 2 CH(NH 3 )CH 3 ] 0.5 [Sn 4 P 3 O 12 ] ' H 2 O, was synthesized by hydrothermal technique. It crystallizes in monoclinic space group P2 1 /c (No. 14) with lattice parameters a ؍ 7.326(1) A s , b ؍ 23.614(3) A s , c ؍ 9.081(1) A s , ؍ 102.8(1)3, V ؍ 1532.1(1) A s 3 , Z ؍ 3, R ؍ 4.3%.
The structure consists of one-dimensional channels, constituting a network of strictly alternating SnO 3 and PO 4 moieties connected through vertices. The structure-directing amine molecule 1,2-diaminopropane occupies the channels along with water molecules.
