β¦ Synopsis
A microporous aluminogermanate possessing zeolite rho framework topology has been synthesized from sodium and cesium containing gel mixtures. The dehydrated material of composition Na 16
Cs 8 Al 24 Ge 24 O 96 has been structurally characterized via combined Rietveld analysis of synchrotron X-ray and neutron diffraction data collected on a powdered sample. It has a cubic unit cell with a 0 =14.6738(2) A Λand adopts space group I23, showing strict alternation of aluminum and germanium in the framework. The structural parameters are compared with those derived for other materials possessing rho topology.
