✦ Synopsis

Abstract

A new C~2~‐symmetric chiral lariat ether has been prepared by 1 : 1 cyclocondensation of a contrafunctional amine easily obtained from L‐serine. Its ^1^H and ^13^C spectra were completely assigned using the two‐dimensional gradient enhanced one‐bond (HMQC) and multiple‐bond (HMBC) heteronuclear techniques together with the homonuclear DQF COSY correlation technique. Two new dioxatriazacyclopentadecanetriacetic acids were synthesized, i.e. 1,4-dioxa-7,10,13-triazacyclopentadecane-7,10,13-triacetic acid (1; H 3 L 1 ) and 1,4-dioxa-7,10,14-triazacyclohexadecane-7,10,14-triacetic acid (2; H 3 L 2 ). The protonation constants of these compounds and the stability con
