Syitliesis of several 6-sicbstittcted-I ,2,4,8,10.1 I -hexachloro-1 ZH-dibeiizo[d,g][l,3,2]dioxaphosphocin 6oxides and their IR. IH, I3C, and 31P N M R aizd inass spectral analyses are described. Observation of geminal coupling ['J(H,H, = 16.0 Hz] between bridged methylene protons ( 1 2-CH2) suggested their nonequivalence and is consistent with a boat-chair form which mav be in conformational equilibrium with either a boat-boat or a distorted and extended boatlike conformation, "Recrystallized from ethylacetate-hexane. bYields were reported after one crystallization. c3'P Chemical shifts were expressed in 6, 85% H3P04 being used as external standard.
