## Abstract A novel synthesis of thiadiazoline derivatives **12** and **14** __via__ treatment of indane‐1,3‐dione‐2‐thiocarboxanilides (**5**) with hydrazonoyl halides **1** and **2** is reported. Also, active chloromethylene compounds **15** react with **5** to give thiazole derivatives **19**. ©
