## Abstract A series of new poly(amideโimide)s were synthesized by direct polycondensation of the 1,6โbis(trimellitimido)diamantane (1) with various aromatic diamines in __N__โmethylโ2โpyrrolidone (NMP) containing lithium chloride. The poly(amideโimide)s had inherent viscosities of 0.33โ1.55 dL/g.
