Three donor -acceptor -donor triads 1 -3 consisting of tetrathiafulvalene units attached to perylene diimides by flexible and rigid spacers were synthesized and characterized. UV/vis spectroscopic and cyclic voltammetric results indicate that they all show negligible intramolecular charge transfer i
