Abstract
The synthesis and polymorphism of deuterium‐labeled 1,2‐di‐O‐[11‐^2^H~2~)‐oleoyl]‐3‐O‐β‐D‐galactopyranosyl)‐rac‐glycerol is described. ^2^H‐NMR studies show that this lipid in its hydrated state adopts a lamellar phase below ‐ 5°C and an inverted hexagonal phase above ‐ 5°C.
