✦ Synopsis
A convenient route to IB-VIA nonstoichiometric metal telluride nanocrystallites by a novel hydrothermal reaction of metal salts with tellurium in the presence of N 2 H 4 ' H 2 O was established. The e4ects of molar ratio, temperature, and time on hydrothermal reactions and nonstoichiometric phases in the products have been investigated. Many interesting phases such as Cu 2.86 Te 2 , Cu 7 Te 5 , Cu 2+x Te, and Ag 7 Te 4 were observed in the products at lower temperature.
