✦ Synopsis

C1

c 1 (3) were formed together with (1).

The NMR parameters of (l), its cis and trans isomers and (2) were obtained in C,D, solution at 100 MHz. Theoretical spectra of (1) at 60 MHz were simulated with the aid of a computer, using as input the NMR parameters obtained at 100 MHz and good agreement with the experiment was obtained.

CI was performed chromatographically. Varian spectrometers A60/56A at 60 MHz and HA 100 at 100 MHz have been used for NMR analysis. A Hewlett and Packard model 200 CD audio oscillator and niodcl 5245 L frequency meter were employed for the accurate determination of the line frequencies at 60 MHz. Decoupling frequencies were provided by a GR1302-A type oscillator and the locking signal was provided by a Muirhead Wigan D-89-B decade oscillator. A single focusing Varian MAT CH-51 spectrometer was used for the MS analysis. All the solutions of (1) and (2) to which TMS was added as reference were carefully degassed and analysed.

The kinetics of the reactions of ground state oxygen atoms with 1-pentene, 1-hexene, cis-2pentene, and trans-2-pentene was investigated in the temperature range 200 to 370 K. In this range the temperature dependences of the rate constants can be represented by k Ο AЈ T n exp(Οͺ E a Ј/RT) with AЈ Ο (1
