## Abstract Some new heterocyclic liquid‐crystalline compounds incorporating a 1,3‐disubstituted allene unit were synthesised. These axial‐chiral compounds were investigated by polarisation microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. One of them was also synthesised in enantiomerically enrich
