## Abstract A useful synthesis of 3‐methylthio‐6‐methyl‐pyrano[4,3‐__c__]pyrazol‐4(2__H__)‐ones via 3‐(bis‐methylthio)methylene‐5,6‐dihydro‐6‐alkyl(aryl)‐2__H__‐pyran‐2,4‐dione with hydrazine as well as methyl and phenyl hydrazines is described and the mechanism of the formation is discussed. © 200
