✦ Synopsis
Two new derivatives of 4-dicyanomethylene-2,6-dimethyl-4H-pyran were synthesized and characterised. The fluorescence intensity, quantum yield and emission wavelength of these derivatives are reported. Films made from poly(amic acid) with the corresponding chromophore covalently bound show better fluorescence properties than the acid monomer. Copyright *

A novel polyaryloxydiphenylsilane was synthesized successfully by solution polycondensation of 2,2Ј-dimethyl-biphenyl-4,4Ј-diol with diphenyldichlorosilane and the catalyst triethylamine in toluene at 80 °C. Polymers with a relatively high inherent viscosity and yield were obtained when the reaction
## Abstract Strategies for the preparation of new fluorescent oligopeptide conjugates labeled with 4‐ethoxymethylene‐2‐[1]‐naphthyl‐5(4__H__)‐oxazolone (naOx‐OEt) at the N‐terminal on solid support or in solution have been devised. These procedures are simple and easy to carry out by reacting naOx‐
This article describes the synthesis and the properties of polyesters and copolyesters prepared from ethylene glycol, terephthalic acid, 4,4Ј biphenyldicarboxylic acid (BDA), and 2,6-naphthlenedicarboxylic acid (NDA). The effect of incorporating varying levels of BDA and NDA on polyethylene terephth
