The synthesis of a hitherto unknown 6 : 5 phase in the quasi-binary system RbCl/PbCl 2 and its structure determination is reported. The compound Rb 6 Pb 5 Cl 16 crystallizes in the tetragonal space group P4/mbm with a large variety of different coordination polyhedra for the cations. Special feature

The reaction between PCl 3 and ReCl 5 yielded at 200 Β°C the ionic tetrachlorophosphonium dirhenium nonachloride, (PCl 4 )[Re 2 Cl 9 ]. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed a monoclinic unit cell: a = 8.616(3) A Γ , b = 10.449(4) A Γ , c = 9.397(3) A Γ , b = 99.72(3)Β°, V = 833.9(5) A Γ
The compounds [TeI 3 ][MI 4 ] (M = Ga, In) were obtained as air sensitive black crystals by the reactions of Te, I 2 and Ga or In in vacuum sealed ampoules. The gallium compound crystallizes in the structural type of [SCl 3 ][AlCl 4 ]: monoclinic system, space group Pc (No. 7), a = 7.211(11), b = 7.
