✦ Synopsis
A variety of neutral ether lipids was synthesized. A method for the synthesis of 1,3-Odialkyl-sn glycerols was developed which involves selective alkylation of 3-O-alkyl-sn-glycerols. The ORD and CD curves of the various glyceryl ethers and their esters were analyzed. The correlation between the CD sign of the acyl residue and its position in the glycerol derivative was clarified.
