✦ Synopsis
The synthesis of xerogels possessing a Fmoc-protected semicarbazide group covalently linked to a silica matrix is described. BET and fluorescence analyses showed the homogeneity of the xerogels. The xerogels were deprotected and further reacted with aldehydes to give novel materials.
