✦ Synopsis
The synthesis and growth of single crystals of (\mathrm{Ni}{3} \mathrm{~S}{2}) are described. Structural information is provided on the room-temperature configuration of this compound. Measurements of electrical resistivity, magnetic susceptibility, and heat capacity below room temperature have been carried out and are briefly discussed. The material may be classified as a good metallic conductor. O 1993 Academic Press, Inc.

## Abstract Efforts have been successful to crystallize the electroceramic compound of cadmium tartrate through silica hydrogel. Analysis of thermograms reveals decomposition of the crystals to take place within the temperature range 65 to 442°C in air atmosphere. Some important characteristic data
Forsterite monocrystals doped with Ti and Ni were grown by the flux growth technique. A suitable mixture of flux (MoO 3 , V 2 O 5 , Li 2 CO 3 ) and nutrient was slowly cooled down to 750 °C from 1250 °C or 1350 °C. The crystals were then characterized by powder and single-crystal X-ray diffraction,
Single crystals of SnS 2 were intercalated with ethylenediamine (en) and propylenediamine (pn) by direct reaction. The resulting novel compounds were examined by di4erent techniques including XRD, XPS, a.c. impedance, TG, and TPD measurements. The observed lattice expansion for both compounds, ca. 3
