โฆ Synopsis
Reaction of trichloro-0x0-bis (triphenylphosphine) rhenium (V) and Schiff bases derived from some aliphatic diamines and 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde in the presence of triethylamine gives as anionic complex (ReOLC12)-, where L is a tetradentate Schiff base ligand. On the basis of various physical properties, the complexes are assigned seven coordinate. The structure of the complex depends on the length of the methylene chain of the ligand. The ReO3+ complexes form monomeric or polymeric complexes by ligand bridging.
