## Abstract Nonlinear optical single crystals of YCOB with good optical quality were grown by the flux technique for the first time. Polycrystalline YCOB samples were synthesized by solid state reaction method. The thermal analysis of the sample was performed with lithium carbonate flux in differen

The best results could be yielded with the PhO-PbF, flux, from which crystals with 2-4 mm in thickness were grown. Tho Bi,O,-B20, flux produced crystals with 1 -2 mm in thickness. The spinel1 structure of the chromite was proved by X-ray investigation. Mn,Crj,O, was prepared by the flux method.
