✦ Synopsis
Group-TV-A phthalocyanines with four crown ether substituents have been prepared from 4,s'-dicyanobenzo( IS-crown-S), 4,S'-diiminoisoindolino( 15-crown-S), or metal-free phthalocyanine and the corresponding metal salts. The axial ligands of dichloro[tetra( 1 5-crown-5)phthalocyaninato]silicon or -tin have been converted into dihydroxy derivatives by hydrolysis in aqueous Et,N. The catalytic effect of H20-free CaCI, in quinoline is used for the polycondensation of dihydroxysilicon-phthalocyanine to cofacially arrayed polymers. The thermal stability of group-IV-A-metal phthalocyanines is confirmed by the higher initial decomposition points (29M40") compared to those of the corresponding transition-metal phthalocyanines.

## Abstract **Summary:** The synthesis and polymerization of novel 18‐crown‐6 and 24‐crown‐8 bis aryl trifluorovinyl ethers is described. Thermally induced polymerization yields linear crown ether fluoropolymers with hexafluorocyclobutyl linkages. The polymers exhibit __T__~g~'s above 120 °C and sh
