Abstract

Chlorindicarboxylic acids with different alkyl side chains were prepared and their amphiphilic properties studied. The chemical purity, photophysical properties and the lipophilicity due to the alkyl side chains make the chlorins potential candidates for applications in photodynamic therapy.
