A new ion exchange resin for the selective complexation of metal ions has been synthesized by functionalizing vinylbenzyl chloride-styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer beads with the sodium salt of tetra(isopropy1) methylene diphosphonate. The effects of bifunctionality, matrix rigidity, degree of funct
